This beauty was completed in December 1998. It has a Brazilian
Rosewood peghead overlay, Waverly tuners, a Mother of Pearl Collings logo and it has a
volute on the rear of the peghead. It has the standard Collings bone nut and saddle with
Elephant Ivory bridge pins (with red TS dots). It does not have herringbone inlay around
the body. It has TS (plastic) binding on the body and fretboard. The fretwork and setup on this
guitar are PERFECT (as is the construction)!
The top of this guitar was made from a 450 year old Red Spruce tree
(rescued by John Arnold and Ted Davis back in the early 90's).
The photo at the bottom right is the raw wood we used for the top. The grain in the top is
extremely tight. It's the tightest Adirondack I have seen. It almost looks like
old German Spruce. The brace wood used for this guitar is also Adirondack (Red)
Spruce, which is unusual for Collings Guitars. It's incredible!
